The semester in short
I am sitting in my office and I have run out of blogs to read and places to shop online. Why would I have so little to do? The semester is done. over. bye-bye. I handed in my fMRI final yesterday (a grant proposal for an fMRI study), and took my stats final this morning. And now I'm done. While classwork this semester was a little slow, I feel like I learned a lot in fMRI that will be useful in my research. Statistics? Not so much, but that's just because fMRI research tends to use weird statistics.
This week there are no classes but it will still be eventful. The first years are going out tonight for drinks (me: water) after our colloquium speaker. On Wednesday my advisor and his wife (who is on my dissertation committee) are having a lab get together at a restaurant, should be fun. And Thursday is Fozziwig's...er...the Psychology Department's Annual Christmas Party. Mr. Fozziwig, do you know how much the department is spending on this party? I'm heading home to West Townsend sometime between the 20th and the 23rd, depending on the weather. I can't wait for Christmas and to see all my friends from home (especially Aimee...long time no see!) Oh yeah...and my brother is getting married? I'm the best man and have to write a speech? Woah, pressure is on. My plans for tonight are: Buy a shovel. Shovel the sidewalk. Watch SVU Season 2 on DVD. Maybe Muppet Christmas Carol again? Relax.
